Maree Gatt

Maree is a registered clinical psychologist, having completed Bachelor of Psychology at ACU and Masters of Clinical Psychology at the University of Ballarat. She is also a member of the Australian Psychological Society and a qualified Hypnotherapy practitioner.

With offices located in Footscray and Sunshine, Maree helps innumerable clients from all around Melbourne. She works within a range of mental health settings with an average of 40 clients per week. This includes forensic counselling with a variety of offenders, drug and alcohol counselling, community mental health, psychology clinical setting and within schools. She has worked with clients with a variety of presenting issues and from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.    

​As a psychologist, Maree has had the opportunity to practice in a vast range of settings and has experience in providing intervention for children, adolescents, adults, and even group therapy.
Maree utilises a range of evidence-based strategies including Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness Techniques, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Play Therapy, Aspects of Art Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solutions Focused Therapy. Her experience of treating a range of mental health issues across the life span include depression, anxiety/stress, personality disorders, other mood disorders, drug, alcohol, and gambling addictions, eating disorders, self-esteem and body issues, and also grief-related problems.

Maree deals with a range of adult psychological difficulties and childhood related disorders such as; adjustment disorders, attachment disorders, trauma-related disorders, and developmental disorders such as Autism and ADHD.

Passionate about her work, Maree adapts unique care suited to each client’s needs and therapeutic goals. Maree has a very positive and optimistic approach to her work. With this approach, she ensures they are kept motivated to improve any difficulties they may be experiencing to live fulfilling lives. ​
